I liked the earlier Walmart book (although I didn't like the girl becoming a famous photographer - not a career in keeping with the rest of the book). Unfortunately, this one had a bunch of potentially great characters that were dropped into stereotypical plots. When I write fiction the characters always assume a life of their own at some point, but these were obviously jammed into a pre-formed script. Likeable enough to finish, but basically disappointing.
