The Girl at the Lion d'Or

Sebastian Faulks

In keeping with my generally grumpy mood, I'll toss in my opinion of the above-mentioned book. Ick. First, I hate when they try and pawn off an older (89/90) book as new (certainly fooled the library). Secondly, while the use of language was mostly excellent, the storyline suffered rigor mortis. Okay, it did pick up and move along nicely, but only in a couple of places. And, I'm left wondering once again, what was the point? Sigh.
