Another fantastic book by Ira Sadoff, though this is best used as a pointer towards the greatness his career would achieve. Unlike his later works, Palm Reading in Winter shows slight touches of inconsistency, almost hesitancy. Which makes it no less brilliant, but does jar the ear on rare occasions. For the established Sadoff fan, this is well worth picking up; new readers may want to start with Emotional Traffic or the selected poems.
