Astonishing Splashes of Colour

Clare Morrall

Purchase this title at B&N

The narrator of this first novel is a young married woman who is struggling to regain psychological balance following a traumatic personal experience. In straightforward and often witty prose, Morrall creates a sympathetic character who slowly unravels what the true source of her discontent is. I thought this book was a disturbing but engaging profile of a troubled mind and I was impressed at Morrall's ability to pace the novel so evenly.
