If you're looking for a fast paced book with a unique premise, I'd recommend Replay by Ken Grimwood. The story begins as Jeff Winston, a 43 year old radio professional dies, awakens as a teen, only to die again. And again. If it sounds a little like the movie Groundhog Day, I was reminded of it, too but in the final analysis I was moved by the depth of the story and fascinated by the possibilities the main character's situation presented. It's classified as sci-fi / fantasy - a genre that I don't normally read - but I enjoyed it a lot and rated it a 4.
