Well, this is a little gem of a book. Kaye Gibbons seems to be another Elizabeth Berg - Charms easy to read, well-written, and the characters were realistic and well-drawn. Of the three women in the novel, the grandmother is the most memorable, but I still feel as though I know them all. Having a cup of tea with these strong and capable characters would be a real treat. Of course, listening to their doctoring stories might be an appetite supressant; but their tales of folk medicine cures in the south would never be dull.
