A sort of sequel to Haruf's Plainsong, Eventide takes up the story of the McPheron brothers and Victoria, the girl they took in and gave a home to in Plainsong. While it probably can stand alone, the book benefits greatly if you know the backstory. Not as good as Plainsong, but certainly worthwhile.
