The Six Wives of Henry VIII

Alison Weir

Purchase this title at B&N

I became so fascinated by the story of Henry VIII through The Other Boleyn Girl novel that I immediately moved on to some nonfiction reading on English royalty in the 1500's. This book is a thorough but eminently readable account of Henry VIII's court, his personality, his ruling style, and the wives that he wooed one by one in a tragic, obsessive effort to produce an heir to his throne. Really interesting reading. I couldn't put it down.
