Elizabeth I was the daughter of Ann Boleyn and Henry VIII and she became one of England's most beloved monarchs. Known as the Virgin Queen, she ruled with far less terror than her sister Mary who immediately preceeded her on the throne and she strived to always keep her image popular with the people in her realm. It was interesting to see the personality traits of both her father (Henry) and her mother in her. She used them to far more advantage than either of her parents had. This is a decent primer on Elizabeth's life and rule.
