Well, the Bergman novel won't make my list this year. It was so much like a play that it would translate almost seamlessly to the big screen (or stage). No real storyline, although I get the feeling that reading it along with someone learned in literature symbolism (or something) would reveal many hidden 'extras'. Good thing it was short, or I would not have finished it.
