The Daughter of Time

Josephine Tey

Purchase this title at B&N

Short, sweet, confusing. A laid-up British Policeman embarks on a research quest to disprove everything that is taught in school textbooks about Richard the Third. I loved the idea (history is often incorrect, if not downright lies), but I was lost amongst the British royalty - too many people, not enough different names (could there BE any more Edwards and Richards?) and intrigue overflowing. It would have been an easy read, had I not attempted to actually keep everything straight. Even the geneologies that Josephine Tey thoughtfully provided at both beginning and end could not help me...

I would give this short academic mystery an okay/good in places rating.
