Oh, this wasn't horror at all. Not even very creepy, just a good old-fashioned mystery. The story moved right along, and although I guessed a few things, several plot twists caught me totally by surprise. Certainly didn't feel like I was reading a dated story; a feeling that can turn me off so-called classics.
