The Last Valentine

I tried to like this - I chose it for the title, since it is almost Valentine's Day. I thought some fluff might go down well, after a fairly heavy start to the year. Good grief, I even shed a tear before the story began, during the author's acknowledgments. I couldn't make it past page 27. Sugary and poorly-written, it just didn't do a thing for me. Interestingly, it had gone out of the library 14 times the year it was published, which I took as a good sign.
