It's always a delight to find a new author with a plethora of books you've not yet read. Such is the case with Denise Vitrola and her series of books about a marshall name Ty Merrick, who also just happens to be a lycanthrope. The character could have been taken from the pages of Laurell Hamilton's Anita Blake series, so similar are they in nature. But Vitrola sets her down in much different settings, dealing not with vampires but a corrupt government in a futuristic society. She's spunky, witty, and independent. The characters who surround her are intriguing and well fleshed out. The setting is intelligent and well researched and takes you on several journeys through the paranormal and psychokinetics, mind control, and poltergeists. If I wanted to recommend her books to anyone here, my first choices would be Al and Ee Lin, but only because I know of their affections for Hamilton. But at the same time, I think any fan of sci-fi/fantasy would enjoy these books. I'll be picking up the next ones.
