Sanctuary

William Faulkner

Purchase this title at B&N

I started reading Faulkner's Sanctuary a week or so back. I'd never read any of his work before and this one happened to be on sale at the locak used store, so I thought what the hey. It didn't pass the 50 page rule, but I kept on reading it anyway. It barely passed the 100 page rule, but I kept on going. And about page 110, this baby took off! All the characters I couldn't keep track of and who didn't really seem to fit together or anywhere suddenly meshed together and made sense. The same experience plot-wise, but now I'm hooked on this torrid little tale about a very, very bad man, a very unlucky teenage girl, a scared murder suspect with a secret and his world weary yet street smart wife. Halfway through and totally engaged now!
