I finished When Zachary Beaver Came to Town in one day last week. Definitely a YA book, but well written. One day, in a sleepy little Texas town, a trailer pulls in advertising the Fattest Boy in the World--get an eyeful for $2. The story is set in the late 60's/early 70's and centers on one boy's reaction to Zachary, his best friend's brother's service in VietNam and his mother's defection to Nashville to become a country singer. A good read, but nothing earth shattering.
