This book should be listed under fiction, because I'm afraid it'll get buried in the non-fiction stacks and no one else will benefit from learning so much about Iran in such a fun way. Alison Wearing writes like a novelist, even though she's a journalist by trade, and she spins a great tale out of her five- month journey through Iran. She does have a penchant for incomplete sentences, which gets a tad tiring, but her descriptions leave you feeling as though you went along for the trip. I found I could not put this book down; I was afraid I might miss the next interesting Iranian to walk down the street. Often this next person would invite them home, feed them generously, tell them stories and then help in any way possible to help them continue on their way. Highly recommended.
