Being Dead

Jim Crace

Purchase this title at B&N

This story traces the lives of a dead couple found on the sand dunes of a beach, but it does so backwards, beginning from their time of death. I remember this chiefly because it seemed to have a poetic quality and yet it was written in clear prose. The author's ideas on the subject matter seemed oddly comforting to me, somehow.
