Booked to Die

John Dunning

Purchase this title at B&N

The Rev reviewed this novel last month, Booked To Die by John Dunning, so I needn't spend time here in repetition. But I must thank the Rev so much firstly for turning me on to another great detective (they are my weakness..) and another author who knows how to plot a mystery, build his characters, and as the Rev opined in his review, to bring two such different interests together, a murder, a mystery, and the collection of rare books, and do it in such a way that one always balances the other, is an achievement. Dunning does it to perfection. I've already ordered the next in this series and I hope Dunning keeps churning Janeway out. He's not Spenser, and he's minus a Hawk, but he's charming and quick and just enough on the wrong side of the law to make him compelling.
