Almost finished this one (632 pages small paperback). I found the lead character Charlotte annoying, indecisive and plain irritating, that woman should get a kick in the butt! Well you would expect with all the things going on in this story, quite well told and nice plots, she would spice up a bit but no, she remains boring as hell and you keep asking yourself why on earth did Goddard take this character as lead. That is a pity because the subject is refreshing and written with a lot of knowledge on the subject but this figure spoils the reading fun for me, I want to know how it ends. I have this hunch from the beginning of the book and I think that is the deal but the Charlotte character is too stupid probably to find out until the end of the book. Come to think of it all the characters (except one of them who dies) are annoying! Only if you want to be irritated or just don't care. The story underneath is nice.
