Blood and Bone

Austin Camacho's Blood and Bone was the first mystery I've read in some time, and I left it wanting to read more of his work. Set primarily in the Washington/Baltimore area, the book maintains a strong level of suspense throughout, and is a quick and interesting read. Camacho draws his characters with good attention to detail, and several of them stayed vivid even several weeks after reading the book. The book also carried a strong sense of place, with the settings in Baltimore, DC and in Mexico drawn vividly and crisply. A quick read and one well worth picking up. I'm looking forward to the next one.
