Forbidden Knowledge

Darwin Gross

Titling a book “Forbidden Knowledge” is rather like putting on the front, in large red letters, “warning: wacko ahead, in theory and practice.” So I was ready for just about anything. What I got, however, was (to steal a phrase from Martin Atkins) a new high in low.

Forbidden Knowledge is one of a number of books about the Ancient Teachings of the Masters (ATOM, for short), about the use of light and sound to become one with god. Which is all well and good, nothing a number of other texts haven't said. However, this one purports to be the oldest religion known to mankind, and counts among its followers one Fubbi Quantz, the head of a monastery in Tibet. According to Forbidden Knowledge, Mr. Quantz is 1,500 years old.

As fantasy/sci-fi it might have been amusing. Passed off as true? Barely made it to the fifty page mark.
