Brilliant! An extended diatribe against the Baby Boomer generation-their 'crimes', attitudes, characteristics, lifestyles. As a Boomer himself, the author knows what he's talking about! The best I can say about Balsamic Dreams is-read it yourself! Queenan is not only a brilliant satirist but also a superb writer. He has a truly wonderful way of playing with and using language and pulling you in. He is also one of the funniest writers at work today, and I have to warn you that some of the stuff in here is painfully, laugh-out-loud funny. Chapter 9, 'American History: The B-Sides' must rank amongst the funniest seventeen pages of prose ever written, and the eight pages of acknowledgements are downright hilarious. I think you get my drift. Read it read it read it!
