Prayer at Rumayla

Charles Sheehan-Miles

Purchase this title at B&N

Our own Charles has written fictional account of the experience of a soldier on the Gulf War. What those of us saw in our homes as an "antisceptic" war with little bloodshed was far from it. For the troops on the ground, the war was brutal, visceral, and not easily forgotten. This novel revolves around Chet Brown, who has difficulty adjusting to life stateside after the brutality and images that haunt him on his return. Although you may or may not agree with Charle's position, this is a well written book, a voice worth listening to in these troubled times (see Bruce re: trying to silence dissent).
