Mrs Kimble

Jennifer Haigh

I just finished a novel titled "Mrs Kimble" by Jennifer Haigh. I bought it on an impulse and when I got it home I thought it may be too romancey for me but I was pleasantly surprised.

Haigh has written a story about a Con man and his three wives. He marries each of these women at a different time period in his life. Each woman is so different and unique that they could stand as a story on their own. The women each have their own very different reasons for marrying Kimble and are all taken in by his smooth manner. Kimble alone seems to remain consistently the same through out his life, a man who changes lives and women as easily as changing a pair of shoes. The story of the three women is woven together by Charlie, Kimble's oldest child who appears in each woman's life for a period of time. This book will probably appeal to women more than men, however appeal aside, a man could learn quite a bit about women if he was to read this story.
